CORE was designed as a depth beat -- an emotional center that radiates quiet typesetting to open ends. The concentric circles, in shades of black, powder-pink, and water-green, are built into one another like layers of memory. IT'S A FIERCE YET SENSITIVE GRAPHIC COMPOSITION THAT SIMULATES A HEART OR A GAZE -- OR MAYBE BOTH TOGETHER. THE CARPET IS HAND-WOVEN USING STRICT TWISTING TECHNIQUES, FROM ONLY NATURAL MATERIALS. Each layer of paint is woven in the most precise way, with line and area working together as a single system of balance. Gadi Carmel's design treats the carpet as an internal organ — one that functions without being seen, but without it the space remains empty.
