BRIXTON IS A FROZEN LAYER OF TRAFFIC -- A CITY THAT MOVED, THEN STOPPED. Rounding lines in shades of black, cream and gray meander at an urban pace reminiscent of roads, rails, calls. The carpet sketches an inverted system -- not ordered, but self-serving. Hand-woven from only natural materials, with layers of paint that produce a vivid but considered movement. It has raw energy with quiet control. Gadi Carmel's design was born out of noise -- and managed to make it harmonious.
